“On Wednesday it was wonderful to share with many of you in our Annual Music Concert. It was fabulous to have our newly formed string ensemble playing and to see both violins and cello pieces within the concert alongside singing and piano. We welcomed a super young man called Joe from the Share the Light charity and were delighted to be able to send him away with a total donation of £415.60. Thank you to all who donated so generously, to the choir who continue to support the Porridge Club in Zambia through their singing and to Mrs James for leading it.”

Head Teacher Northchapel Primary School

Mrs James was inspired to organise these concerts in support of the Porridge club after hearing a presentation made by Joe, from our 2012 advocates’ team, some years ago.  It was therefore rather fitting for him to have an opportunity to provide an update on our work and thank them for the way they have embraced Share the Light in such a meaningful way within their school.

It costs just £10 to feed one of the children at Luyobolola primary school for a year.  Northchapel Primary School raised an amazing £1,574 feeding 157 children last school year. So far they have raised £625 feeding just over 62 children this school year!!

Well done to all the musicians and a huge ‘Zikomo’ ‘Twalumba Kapati’ ‘Thank you’ to the staff and parents for their support and generosity.
